If you are looking for a special venue in the heart of the city for your meeting, conference, exhibition or reception; then we can offer you something truly unique.

The Cathedral itself is used as a venue for many different concerts and events, and twice annually hosts the University of Cumbria's Graduation ceremonies.

The Fratry is a former monastic dining room, rebuilt in the 15th century. It offers you accommodation in outstanding surroundings with 163 square metres of floor space, seating 100 theatre style, but able to be used in a variety of layout options to suit your requirements.

The Prior’s Room, situated on the first floor of the Prior’s Tower, dates from about 1500. Of special interest is the magnificent ceiling of 45 hand painted panels, dating from 1510. The room seats 16 in an imposing hollow boardroom layout.

The Prior’s Kitchen sits in the undercroft of the Fratry, and is available for evening functions, and seats 74.

We pride ourselves in offering a truly bespoke service, designed to suit your personal requirements. AV equipment, flip charts, microphones etc are available to hire, and we can arrange appropriate catering, whatever the occasion.
