There are a number of ways for you to get involved in the life of the Cathedral.
All our regular acts of worship are open to all and the Chapter welcomes visitors to join the congregation at these services at any time. Many people also enjoy direct voluntary involvement, acting as Welcomers, Guides, or in the Gift Shop. If any of these options is of interest to you, and you would like to explore the possibilities further; please contact Wendy Murrell on 01228 548071, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Other options for practical involvement could be as members of the Flower Guild, who help to present this beautiful building at its very best, or as Sides-persons, who assist the Vergers at services and concerts. Our Tower Captain will be interested to hear of anyone who is interested to learn to ring the Cathedral Bells and our Voluntary Catering Team plays an important part week-in, week out offering hospitality after some of our special services. If you want further details on any of these possibilities please contact the Cathedral Office in the first instance on 01228 548151, or email email@example.com where you will be put in contact with the appropriate person. People also volunteer as Choir Chaperones, and if you look at the music page, you will see other areas for involvement including the voluntary choir, which is called the Carliol Choir.
In addition to volunteering you can become a Friend of Carlisle Cathedral, or donate in a variety of ways to help preserve the beauty and history of this significant building for future generations. Whatever your interest or talent, we have an opportunity for you.
Here is a photo taken in June 2012 at a party hosted by the Dean for all of the volunteers who help in the Cathedral.
As you can see, a good time was had by all!
