Please be a friend and help Carlisle Cathedral!

WHO ARE THE FRIENDS?
They are individuals, families, parochial church councils, local groups and businesses who care about the Cathedral and its life, and who wish to support the Chapter by prayer and giving to maintain the worship and preserve the fabric of the Cathedral.

WHAT DO FRIENDS DO?
1. As a tangible expression of this, Friends want to contribute financially towards:

• The upkeep of the fabric.
• The maintenance of Cathedral worship and music.
• The enhancement of the Cathedral's beauty.

2. As part of the Cathedral's family:

• Friends are especially welcomed to the Candlemas Eucharist in February and to the Friends' Festival in June.
• Special outings for Friends are also arranged.

3. All Friends receive an Annual Review bringing news of the Cathedral's life as well as a report on the financial position of the Friends.

By subscribing to the Cathedral Broadsheet any Friend who wishes to do so can receive Cathedral news on a monthly basis.

Since the Association's foundation in 1934 the Friends have led the funding for many Cathedral projects including:

• A stained glass window in the north aisle over the vestry
• The choir and clergy vestries
• Repainting the choir ceiling
• The statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary by Josephina de Vasconcellos
• The Cathedral tower stonework
• The choir lights
• Prior Slee Gatehouse restoration
• Cathedral sound system
• Prior's Tower restoration
• Cathedral organ restoration

Minimum subscription for Individual Members £15.00
Married Couple £20.00

Individual Life Membership £250.00.
Life Membership for a Couple £300.00

Schools & Church Councils £6.00
