Carlisle Cathedral Choirs Association

There are six choirs at Carlisle Cathedral that are not only contributing to the maintenance of the choral tradition that has continued for at least 500 years but are also taking music into the wider community through the Outreach Programme to local schools, performing concerts around the Diocese and undertaking tours further afield. These choirs are the Boys’ Choir, the Girls’ Choir, the Chamber Choir, the Youth Choir, the Carliol Choir (the Cathedral’s voluntary choir) and Carlisle Cantate (the children’s community choir).  The Cathedral  Choirs Association unites the members and former members of all these choirs and their families, as well as all those who share an interest in Cathedral music. The Association aims to provide support and encouragement to the Cathedral choirs by arranging social activities and fund raising events, for example, to assist towards the cost of choir tours and recordings. A regular newsletter is published that can be downloaded on this page.
