The Canon Missioner
Canon Missioner - Revd Canon Michael Manley
The Canon Missioner is a full-time residentiary post, called to play a full part in the regular duties of the Cathedral, but with the added responsibility of overseeing mission and outreach.
Revd Canon Michael Manley was appointed in 2007 with 20 years experience in parish ministry and a special interest in mission and new ways of being church. Before coming to Carlisle, Michael served all his time in urban and town centre areas in Lancashire apart from a sabbatical working in an isolated rural multi-benefice in South Australia.
The Canon Missioner is called to help the Cathedral 'look out' to the surrounding world, and help the surrounding world and diocese 'look in' to the Cathedral.
