Ascension Day Eucharist
@ Carlisle Cathedral
Eucharist followed by breakfast in the Prior's Kitchen
Are you someone who enjoys being up with the lark? This is the service for you! It starts at 7.00am.
For 40 days after Easter the Church rejoices to remember the different ways the risen Jesus Christ appeared to his disciples. On the 40th day we remember the way the Gospels tell us that Jesus ascended into heavenly glory – and how, by doing so, he reveals our destiny to share in the life of heaven, and know God face to face.
The Eucharist is celebrated at 7.00am with wonderful music and great hymns which are usually only sung to mark this special day. And afterwards, before we go on to school or work, we enjoy a great cooked breakfast in the Prior’s Kitchen. It’s a great celebration
