Accessibility

Wheelchair access is available to the Cathedral itself, and there is a limited amount of disabled parking available by prior arrangement in the Abbey grounds. Additionally, there is an accessible toilet available within the grounds. Carlisle City Council operate a shopmobility scheme. See their website for details shopmobility@carlisle.gov.uk

There are toilet facilities next to the Prior’s Kitchen, in the Undercroft of the Fratry building. There is also an accessible toilet within the grounds for visitors who have difficulties with stairs. Please ask at the Welcomers Desk in the entrance of the Cathedral for directions.
